Team Profiles

Thomas Warner

Owner & CEO
Thomas Warner

Thomas Warner was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. An apprenticed carpenter by age eighteen he learned to build splendid replications of traditional American furniture. Tom's college education focused on architecture, anthropology and art history.

Upon moving to northern California in 1976, he founded a construction company specializing in outdoor environments blending wood structures with flowing water, stones, plants and light. In 1989, he designed and built his first wine cellar and began to explore the many expressions of designs based upon his life’s experience and extensive International travels. Since then, he has completed over 200 individual cellars ranging from a few hundred bottles to over eighteen thousand bottles.

Tom's natural ability to communicate with people, his drive to explore new ideas, and his years of experience administering dynamic and successful enterprises give him a unique blending of talents to make for a most enjoyable and enlightening working relationship with his special clientele.

Tom currently resides just north of San Francisco, California, in Marin County.

Michael Warner

Design & Project Management

With a strong interest and background in creative design Mike joined the team on a part-time basis in 2006 and made the full-time commitment in July of 2010. His natural abilities have allowed him to master the design process offering TWWC a full-time, in-house design program – a huge leg up over companies that have to outsource design or use preset programs. Working in SketchUp, Mike can recreate a cellar space in three dimensional form and offer clients the most technologically advanced and descriptive plans available. In addition to conceptual design, Mike is an integral part of our Project Management team working to ensure that job communications are kept up to date and spending time in the field transferring his designs into their physical form.

Bill Kenney

Project Manager

Bill brings to the team a diverse background in contracting, a passion for “green” building practices and an eagerness to ensure each job is done “right”. A licensed contractor and a “Build it Green” certified builder, Bill started with TWWC in 2005 and quickly became an integral part of the management staff. Bill’s natural ability to keep all projects running smooth is a huge asset to the team. He oversees site prep, installation requirements and timelines, communications between General Contractors and fabrication teams and trains installation crews in addition to leading many on-site installations.

Cara Caldwell

PR and Marketing Director

Cara comes to us with an accredited background in marketing and client relations. As a business owner herself she understands the nuances of a working team and can quickly assess where to focus our top priorities - couple that a dynamic understanding of social media and international marketing and we have a winning combination. Cara joined the TWWC in the fall of 2010 and has quickly filled our calendars with PR opportunities and connections that are launching us forward at a record pace.

Elaine Smith

Office Manager & Personal Assistant

Every once in a while a company makes a strategic decision that they hope will pan out and they end up striking gold. Elaine joined the TWWC this year and has very quickly proven to be an invaluable component of the team. With an extensive background on Office Management – specifically in the field of Contracting, Elaine walked through the door on day one with her sleeves rolled up, ready to work. Elaine administrates all office procedures, coordinates schedules, oversees book-keeping & AR/AP, liaisons with office staff and clientele – and most importantly, keeps us smiling. Her natural leadership abilities and seemly limitless organization and prioritization skills keep everyone on track and ensure that things are done right – the first time.
